| Commissioner rules on incomplete rounds |

July 11, 2007. The commissioner has determined that: [a] if a player fails to complete play on a hole they forfeit their individual match points and [b] in team aggregate stoke play competition, if a player fails to complete play on a hole their team forfeits the team match points. Once such a forfeit has occurred it cannot be undone, or reversed, by subsequent action of an opponent such as failing to complete play on the next hole. All play should continue in order to have fun and to post scores for handicapping purposes. It should be emphasized that the purpose of this league is to have fun in a competitive environment and so, if you see an opponent is struggling mightily on a hole, you should strongly consider conceding their next stroke with due regard to the potential impact it will have on the outcome of the match. Note: This determination is for league scoring only and players affiliated with the NNGA should post their GHIN club scores in accordance with the USGA handicap rules for incomplete play. |
